Sol-20
Sol-20
- The Sol-20 (manufactured by Processor Technology Corporation and designed by Lee Felsenstein and Bob Marsh) was one of the earliest complete pre-assembled S-100 bus microcomputers, released in 1976.
- Featuring a built-in keyboard, video display generator, and power supply in a distinctive wooden-accent chassis, the Sol-20 could run BASIC and terminal emulation software.
- In 1977, my grandmother bought me a Sol-20 setup, which I paired with a Pennywhistle 103 acoustic coupler modem to dial into remote computers and discover Unix. See First Unix Experience in 1977.
