COMPANY
Blue Pixel
Blue Pixel
- Blue Pixel was an elite digital photography consulting, training, and workflow design firm composed of a premier team of professional photojournalists and digital pioneers.
Background & Influence
- Founded by award-winning photojournalist Kevin Gilbert, Blue Pixel was designed to assist major camera manufacturers (such as Nikon), software companies, and retail partners (including Best Buy) in navigating the massive transition from film to digital workflows.
- The company's instructors were pulled from the absolute upper echelons of the industry, including former White House press photographers, Sports Illustrated shooters, and elite news photojournalists.
Connection to Me and Geek Cruises
- Blue Pixel designed and delivered the intensive, high-level digital photography workshop curricula for the "Click" themed voyages of Geek Cruises.
- Their legendary team of instructors—including Kevin Gilbert and Rob Galbraith—led hands-on camera clinics, classroom lectures, and shore excursions on major trips like Illiads Oddysea and Caribbean Click Cruise (October 2003) and Caribbean Click 2 Cruise (January 2005), where I happily learned from and mentored alongside them.
