Atrial Ablation Surgery
Atrial Ablation Surgery
- A major personal Health milestone where I underwent cardiac ablation surgery to treat atrial flutter.
Medical Background
- In early 2026, I was diagnosed with Atrial Flutter. Before managing it with heavy medications, my pulse was pegged at 150 beats per minute for multiple consecutive days.
- The recommended treatment was a catheter ablation under general anesthesia, where a probe is inserted near the groin to "zap" the part of the atrium causing the flutter.
- The surgery took place on Friday, March 13, 2026, and I was released after a few hours in post-op.
The Irony
- As a Randal Schwartz who is certified as a Google Developer Expert (GDE) in Flutter, it did not escape my irony meter that I was afflicted with Atrial Flutter.
These facts are as Randal recalls them, but much time has passed for most of this. If you find a factual error, please email realmerlyn@gmail.com.
