Linux Lunacy 2001 (October 21 – October 28, 2001) was the inaugural Linux-themed Geek Cruise, sailing the Eastern Caribbean aboard the Holland America Line's M.S. Maasdam.

Onboard Drama: The Great Shouting Match
- During this cruise, a spontaneous and passionate shouting match erupted between RMS and ESR in the ship's meeting space corridor over the ideological divide between "Free Software" and "Open Source."
