- TriMet (Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon) is the public agency that operates mass transit bus, light rail, and commuter rail systems in the Portland metropolitan area.
- During high school in 1977, Randal Schwartz took long TriMet bus journeys from rural Colton into Beaverton to collaborate with Steve Salta and Jonathan Kirwan at Superior Software Services. See First Unix Experience in 1977.
