Jonathan Coulton
Jonathan Coulton
- Jonathan Coulton (widely known as JoCo) is a highly popular American independent singer-songwriter and internet celebrity, famous for his clever, humorous, and heartfelt songs about geek culture, software engineering, science, and science-fiction. Some of his most celebrated tracks include "Code Monkey", "Re: Your Brains", "I Feel Fantastic", and "Still Alive" (the ending credits theme for the video game Portal).
- I became a big fan of his during his famous Thing a Week project (2005–2006), where he wrote, recorded, and released a brand-new song every single week for a full year. I was particularly hooked by "Code Monkey" and "SkyMall".
Connection to Me and JoCo Cruises
- Because my good friend Neil Bauman (founder of Geek Cruises) produced the first and second JoCo Cruise voyages in 2011 and 2012, I got to attend and meet Jonathan several times, sharing some fantastic conversations.
- On the second JoCo Cruise in February 2012, I pulled off a memorable highlight by tricking him into singing karaoke with me! See Karaoke with Jonathan Coulton on JoCo Cruise 2.
