- The Panama Canal is a historic and world-renowned 82 km artificial waterway in Panama that connects the Atlantic Ocean with the Pacific Ocean.
- Over my years coordinating and presenting on Geek Cruises, I transited through the northern (Atlantic-facing) Gatun Locks of the Panama Canal on three separate voyages, capturing the engineering marvels of the locks, ship transits, and Gatun Lake.

- November 2007 (MacMania 7 - Day 7):
- Entered the Gatun locks in the morning, parked for several hours inside Gatun Lake, and made a brief stop in Colon, captured in Flickr album 2007-11 MacMania 7 - Day 7.
