Scanning the Panel
- In April 2015, I reflected on my training as an instrument-rated pilot. One of the core skills taught is to scan the entire instrument panel at least once every 30 seconds to ensure all gauges make sense.
- I noted that I really wish bartenders were required to undergo similar training, using a systematic scan to monitor customer drinks, empty glasses, and the overall state of the bar.
