Biological Eye Fixation Observation

  • Biological Eye Fixation Observation

  • A personal observation about lower-level visual processing and eye-coordination.
  • The Observation

    • In November 2023, I noted a fascinating physiological and biological phenomenon.
    • I realized that when I "think about" looking at a specific part of my screen or a gauge on my car dashboard, my eyes seem to already be settled on that item.
    • This sparked a question about how visual tracking works: does the eye move in a blur towards the target before the upper brain registers the target, or does lower-level vision processing handle motion stabilization, only notifying the upper brain once the image is stable?
These facts are as Randal recalls them, but much time has passed for most of this. If you find a factual error, please email realmerlyn@gmail.com.
