Dad Napkin Designs
Dad Napkin Designs
- A fond personal memory of my father's habit of sketching mechanical designs at the dinner table.
The Napkin Sketches
- Whenever my father, Ray Schwartz, and I went out to eat, our conversation would eventually turn to something he was building or designing.
- Dad would invariably grab the nearest paper napkin, unfold it across the table, pull a ball-point pen from his pocket protector, and start sketching his gadgets.
- By the end of almost every meal, two or three napkins would be filled with ink designs.
- The habit was a constant representation of his engineering mind, and it remains one of the things I miss most about him.
