  • The Devastation

    • In September 2017, the Eagle Creek Fire swept through the Columbia River Gorge, one of my favorite lifelong places in the world.
    • The fire was started by a teenager throwing fireworks into a dry, high-danger forest area.
    • Feeling a deep state of denial and anger about the damage to the gorge, I shared my sadness with my community online.
