    • In modern Technology, people talk about "haptic feedback" as a commonplace feature.
    • When I was young, the only haptic feedback we experienced was when a pinball machine scored a "match."
    • Not only could you hear that satisfying and incredibly loud "thunk!" (known in the industry as a "knocker") from 20 feet away, but you could feel the physical impact directly in your hands if you were still leaning against the machine cabinet.
