Skylab Reentry Parody Song
Skylab Reentry Parody Song
- A humorous songwriting memory from the 1979 Skylab reentry, written to the tune of Elton John's "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road".
The Parody Verse
- With news of another satellite returning to Earth, I was reminded of the Skylab Reentry in July 1979.
- Back then, I wrote a complete parody verse about the incident to the tune of "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" by Elton John.
- While the rest of the song is lost to time, I still remember the opening lines: "When are you gonna come down? / Where are you going to land? / You should have stayed up, another decade or two, / your re-entry should have been planned..."
