Turning 50 and the Grey Beard Decision
- My milestone decision to stop shaving and grow a beard for the first time in my life as I turned 50.
Letting it grow
- In October 2011, with my 50th birthday approaching on November 22, I seriously contemplated a major lifestyle change: stopping shaving entirely and letting my beard grow out for the first time.
- Based on the grey clippings in my electric shaver over the preceding years, I knew it would be a grey beard.
- I asked my friends on social networks what the downsides might be to embracing this new, distinguished look.
