The D.C. Crossover Story

• The Chippewa Falls Connection: While visiting Chippewa Falls to teach Perl courses for Cray, I became familiar with Leinenkugel's, the dominant local brewery there.
• The D.C. Discovery: A few weeks later, I traveled to Washington, D.C., to teach another Perl class at the UN Bank.
• The Sleuthing: I dropped into a local neighborhood bar in D.C., where they proudly marketed their "local house beer." When I inquired about its origin, the bar staff admitted it was actually contracted out and shipped from "a brewery in Chippewa."
• I instantly knew that their special "local" D.C. brew was none other than Leinenkugel's from Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin!
