Cessna 182
Cessna 182
- The Cessna 182 Skylane is an American four-seat, single-engine, high-performance light airplane produced by Cessna.
- Powered by a 230-horsepower Continental engine and equipped with a constant-speed propeller and cowl flaps, it is faster, heavier, and has significantly higher climb performance and payload than the Cessna 172.
- Because its engine exceeds 200 horsepower, flying the Cessna 182 requires an FAA High-Performance Airplane Endorsement.
- Randal Schwartz transitioned to the Cessna 182 at Eagle Flight Center to earn his high-performance signoff as part of building toward his commercial ticket.
- See Upgrading to the High-Performance Cessna 182 Skylane and My Pilot Training and Aviation Days.
