- In August 2003, during my third trip to Australia to attend and speak at the SAGE-AU conference, I visited Hobart, Tasmania, and took a public tour of the famous local Cadbury Chocolate Factory.
Shared Memories
- During the guided tour, I kept humorously teasing the tour guide by repeatedly asking:
"So, is this where you keep the Oompa Loompas?"
- To double-down on the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory joke, I pointed out a half-height door located in one of the facility's hallways and enthusiastically asked her:
"Will they come out of there?"
- This fun, spontaneous moment remains one of my favorite anecdotes from my visits to Tasmania, and the photos from this Hobart trip are preserved in my Flickr album Trips/2003/03-08-Australia/Hobart.
