Walking the Sydney Harbour Bridge
Walking the Sydney Harbour Bridge
- During my second trip to Australia in August 2002 to attend and speak at the annual SAGE-AU conference, I walked across the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge.
- The SES Boat Ride: To get to the bridge, the coordinator of the local civil defense "SES" (State Emergency Service) with whom I was staying arranged an incredible ride. Since the SES was conducting exercises on Saturday, I got to ride their official rescue boat all the way from the local neighborhood dock directly to the harbor dock situated right under the majestic Harbour Bridge.
- The walk and the boat ride offered magnificent, panoramic views of the Sydney Opera House, Circular Quay, and the bustling harbor.
- This historical memory is captured in my Flickr album Trips/2002/02-08-Australia.
These facts are as Randal recalls them, but much time has passed for most of this. If you find a factual error, please email realmerlyn@gmail.com.
