Morning flight
Morning flight
- A humorous personal travel anecdote involving me on an Alaska Airlines morning flight flying out of Portland (PDX) bound for Silicon Valley or Los Angeles.
The Incident
- On a relatively light flight, the flight crew realized they needed to redistribute passenger seating to satisfy the aircraft's strict weight and balance center-of-gravity constraints (common on regional jet or turboprop routes).
- I was originally seated in the economy cabin, but was selected by the crew and asked to move all the way forward to First Class to help balance the plane.
- Upon being moved up, I jokingly questioned my own mass, wondering: "Do I weigh that much?"
