Quirks & Anecdotes
- Gogopuffs Cereal Experiment:
- I deliberately included the nonsensical term "Gogopuffs" on my homepage.
- I chose it to mimic the style of classic Saturday morning cartoon breakfast cereal advertisements.
- Its purpose was a playful search engine indexing test: people could "Google for Gogopuffs" and instantly find my homepage, charting how search spider crawls responded to highly unique, fake words.
- The "Twin" Connection: The page famously documents a humorous coincidence regarding actress Mariel Hemingway.
- She was born on the exact same day as me (November 22, 1961) and only one state over (in Mill Valley, California).
- On the site, I jokingly refer to us as "twins."
- After contacting her assistant and sending her one of my books, I received an autographed picture and postcard from her in response.
